The Producer
Every Papalgio drop begins with people — those whose care, knowledge, and connection to the land make extraordinary coffee possible.
Giovanna Avendano
Giovanna Avendaño represents a new generation of Panamanian producers blending heritage with innovation. It began as a small family farm that has been guided by patience, precision, and a deep respect for the rhythm of the land. Her hands-on approach ensures that every cherry is selected at its peak, preserving the balance between nature and craftsmanship.
The Origin
Nestled in the lush highlands of Boquete, Giovanna’s estate sits between 1,500 and 1,600 meters above sea level, where volcanic soil and misty mountain air create one of the world’s most sought-after coffee terroirs. It’s here, in this fertile valley, that her passion for cultivating distinctive, expressive coffees took root.
Philosophy & Craft
Her philosophy is simple: great coffee is grown, not made. Giovanna focuses on soil health and selective picking to highlight the natural sweetness and clarity of Boquete’s high-altitude beans. The result is a coffee that tells the story of its land with honesty and elegance.
A Shared Vision
Papalgio’s collaboration with Giovanna began with a shared belief — that Boquete’s finest coffees deserve to be experienced by those who value authenticity and traceability. Together, we curated this limited Oxi–Pacamara lot as our first release, honoring both the land and the people who bring it to life.
